Greater Joy Mission Church Food Pantry

The Food Bank receives millions of pounds of food a year that need to be sorted and organized quickly to distribute out to our communities. Food sorting includes frozen meat, produce, and dry goods. Volunteers must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Make Personal Hygiene Kits for Youth
Many of the residential children served by Great Circle arrive with virtually nothing of their own. Being able to give them their own personal hygiene items is very important.
Write Thank You Notes to Essential Staff
Write a thank-you note to Covenant House Missouri team members who are on the front lines with our youth every day supporting them as they go from homelessness to hope.
COVID-19 Emergency Relief Box
Support families impacted by COVID-19 by collecting and donating essential food items to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
Emergency Food Assistance Program
8:30 - 11:30 am
Volunteers help bring the food order to the distribution site, and a team of 4-7 volunteers help unload the food, unpack the cases, divide the food into individual orders for each patron or family and work at the check in area.
Give A Book
9:00a.m.- 12:00 p.m. each day
Volunteers are needed to help wrap 600 book gifts for children of Boys and Girls Clubs, These will be distributed througout 8 Polk County locations.
Angel Tree Donation Sorting
1pm - 4pm
Volunteers will help unload donations from trucks, sort the toys, and verify that all “angel” bags have been received. This is a warehouse setting, and volunteers will be moving and walking on concrete most of the time, so dress comfortably.
Thanksgiving Meal Distribution
9am - 12pm
Volunteer are needed to help build out Thanksgiving meal kits, and assist in the distribution of the kits to families. Masks are required for participation in this volunteer event.
Become a LovExtension Volunteer!
LovExtension improves life for the under-served elderly and disabled communities in Lake County and The Villages, Florida. Primarily, we provide social and well-being visits for folks who do not have much support and donate items to those in need.
Food Pantry Support
8:30 am - 1:00 pm or 1 - 4 pm
Stock the food pantry shelves, sort and bag groceries, and engage with anyone that drives through to pick up or donate food. CDC guidelines are in place for volunteer and client safety.

Write a note of encouragement or blessing to brighten a family’s day this holiday season! Materials will be provided.
Holiday Meal Kits

Pack one of each item into a box or bag to make a Holiday Meal Kit: Pie Shells, Pumpkin Filling, Stovetop Dressing, Cranberry Sauce, Canned Sweet Potatoes, Canned Green Beans.
Volunteer at Desert Mission Food Bank
9-11 am, 1-3 pm
Provide warehouse and direct client support at the Desert Mission Food Bank. Individual and group volunteer opportunities include: Carry Out, Cashier, Customer Service, Packer, Stocker.
