Coat and Turkey Giveaway

Volunteers will help at Area in Need’s Coat and Turkey Giveaway event for families living at one of the hotels that they support. Tasks include running the check-in table, managing donation stations and supervising activities to ensure a safe event!

Teacher’s Lounge Makeover

Volunteers are needed to revitalize the teacher’s lounge by painting and installing new furniture and d├ęcor.

Virtual Readers with Kids

Volunteers host virtual reading sessions with small groups of students from grades K-2. United Way will facilitate the session alongside volunteers who read and lead fun comprehension activities.

Food Pantry & Meal Prep – MOWA

Volunteers are needed to assist Meals on Wheels Atlanta during their community pick-up day by stocking their pantry with donated items, packing breakfast bags, packing pantry bags and shelf stable meal boxes, and prepping their pet pantry.

Angel Tree Holiday Gift Warehouse

1 - 4 PM

Volunteers will assist at the Salvation’s Army Angel Tree Warehouse to help prepare the space for their community distribution of holiday gifts to families.

Community Garden with Food Well Alliance

9 AM - Noon

Volunteer to help maintain a Food Well Alliance community garden. Tasks may include weeding, mulching, turning compost, garden beautification, invasive plant removal and planting/harvesting as needed.

Emergency Food Aid Volunteer

Volunteers will organize food, fill boxes with a balanced variety of food options, package boxes securely for distribution, and support operations of feeding families in a health-conscious and sanitary manner.

Virtual Kick-off: Food Insecurity Panel

Volunteers will join an expert panel to discuss what food insecurity is and learn how COVID-19 impacted vulnerable communities, how race & equity plays a part, and post COVID strategies to address the issue.
